Students

Coatesville High School Alumni Association (CHSAA) wants to provide an opportunity for CASD students to begin looking at life after Coatesville.  Students will have the chance to learn from those who came before them and continued on in certain careers or educational paths through the Raider Mentorship Program.  This program also offers alumni a great way to give back to the Coatesville community by offering their time, talent, and effort.

The Raider Mentorship Program focuses on college and vocational choices for CASD students, by enlighten and empower Coatesville High School students to explore authentic, real-world opportunities for leadership, hands-on research, and career discovery through the lens of Alumni and local businesses.  Students will be helped to develop communication skills, as well as a vocation, career, and college awareness in order to make better life-long decisions and contributions.  Other alumni can also seek help from Alumni Mentors if they are interested in making vocation, career, or college changes.

The Coatesville High School Alumni Association want to help give CASD students the opportunity to consider career fields through mentoring, special events, and other professional resources by facilitating different ways for our community and alumni can participate in various CASD college and career events so that those who have come before can share their professional experiences and insights with CASD students in and out of the classroom.

Mentors provide students and fellow alumni with college- and vocation-related information, advice, and support through a variety of ways:

We want to help facilitate different ways for our community and alumni to participate in various CASD college and career events so that you can share your professional experiences and insights with students in and out of the classroom.  Career Fairs & guest speaking opportunities create a setting where both students and parents can ask you about your industry, daily job responsibilities, salary, and more.

Industries typically represented include pharmacy, law, medicine, engineering, education, business, first responders, and other trades and vocations.

Internships allow students to enhance their skills and apply classroom knowledge to a professional environment. They offer a supervised, short-term experience in a career field of interest. Internships, which generally coincide with summer break can help students confirm or clarify their career goals, gain practical work experience, and develop industry contacts.  Provide an internship opportunity for current CASD student.

Local businesses and all Coatesville & Scott alumni are invited to be a mentor.   The program provides many levels of involvement (listed below) based on the amount of time mentors can commit to the students.  A mentor application is required to determine commitment level and to appropriately match a mentee.  Parental approval must be received in advance for those students under age 18.

Applications are being reviewed as they are received.  Applicants will be contacted regarding the next steps.
